Problems can get out of proportion, and not only in the wee small hours. Don't let the problems eclipse the Master. Let the Master eclipse the problems.

So save the few countable high class private schools that charge an arm and a leg per term/semester, the rest of the other local private schools pay peanuts. And the pupils must pass their exams especially kcpe as determined in the schools strategic plan or they go. Have pity on the conditions of the private school teachers, not admiration.

Usi ichezee You see Wilson Sossion had to deal, as the KNUT chair he had to do what a leader had to do.....through the strike he made the right noise at the right time but the garment I believe out of tune declared the schools closed (Do they care?Care about what.Show me one of the kids of any of our top servants(lords)in a public school). The plan (shrewd) was to cut the pipe that feeds the teachers regardless of what the collateral damage would be.In this case (pupils, banks, landlords etc), with kids officially on holiday, the govt intended not to pay them their June and July salaries. Truth be said that is more than many of the teachers can handle.Their spirits would be broken, they would not meet all their obligations such as SACCO loans,Hire purchases, the local grocery store bill, rent ,electricity for some ,fare, etc.Beaten they would troop back ...crest fallen and beg for their jobs and pay.Sossion I think in his wisdom knew this, he understands an insensitive garment, full of showmanship and big egos...they will find someone to blame for the woes...he has carefully conceded (other options too grave) while getting something out of it: They will get their pay,No one will be fired, the court cases will be dropped, they will get some increment, kids will go back to school.....he simply knew when to quit and while at it his friend gets the headline: "Ruto negotiates to end the teachers strike" Mcreg... have you every thought of writing? kinda fictional writing? You've outdone yourself with this one. Seriously. And did you call it "truth"? You've given too much credit to Sossion.... by the time he was calling off the strike, he did not have a choice. And at some point, as an employer, you've got to do what you've got to do. Even if it was your company, employees cant just hold you at ransom.

What is developing in this country is a culture where public sector pay is higher than the private sector yet it is the latter that is more efficient and the source of wealth creation.

Seems English was the problem.....after Sossion korogad with Ruto.....strike off!!!! And CORD will issue a statement that KNUT can NEVER be trusted to negotiate teachers needs and must be reconstituted. Arap So-sioni must GO! And that children with CORDED parents will boycott all "future school going" until KNUT is reformed! And a certain someone was not consulted so the strike is still on even if the teachers go back to class [and actually teach!] Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

We however are greatful to God that its over. if the teachers have to complete the syllabus then no need to deduct the period not worked afterall.isn't it? DEDUCT!!! The three months they don't work "we" just give them free of charge - not that they deserve the time. And they never appreciate. They are entitled to 21 - 28 days like all other employees. So, if they have to work over the holiday, they are NOT doing us a favour!!! We pay them over the holidays! The days they didn't work, KATA. When they work over the holiday, Lipa [As we always do - even without them working!!!] Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

There is no need will just lead to another strike... And then another deduction!!! They will not dare. Do people who work in the private sector vomit all over their employers shoes like this? Why do public sector works feel extraordinarily special? Even those who teach maths in mother tongue are DEMANDING for more pay!!! Resign and go the private sector and see just how marketable you are [NOT]!!! Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.
