The 42 are just political nonsense! just like the nonsense that Kibera has one million residents yet the census found something in the order of 137,000.

The KNBS recognises 114 ethnic groups. Politicians want them reduced to 42 so that they can "boost" their own numbers.
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

I will name my people, Giriama, Digo, Duruma, Chonyi, Rabai, Ribe, Kauma, Kambe and Jibana. Though in my lifetime am yet to meet a single Jibana and Kambe. Sijui wamejificha wapi? But most have intergrated with the larger tribes of the Miji.

Kagizzard, list them. After consulting the web, I just realized they didn't make sense, eg I saw Luhya, maragoli, kabras etc in one list, nandi, kalenjin, pokot etc in another. Any official list?

Washengi : Most of them do not identify with the tribes mentioned above. They only know that their parents speak a strange language from Ushago.
