The earlier we face the fact that we need to do away with the senate, the better. All along Kenyans have thought that it is superior to the NA but now reality is sinking in. Kioni tried to warn us but we didnt listen. The civil society and the Odm wing of cord was fast to label such as enemies of reforms. Granted, this constitution is about devolution and it must be protected. This can easily be done by a meeting of governors when that need arises and during budget time...

@Lolest;
I am not sure how old you are to have seen, or how much history of Kenya you know. But I would advice that you read the history of Kenya between 1963 and 1966. Kindly get to know how the executive became all too powerful till we later got a dictator in Moi years later. Then advocate for scrapping of senate

Um Salaya.. Hii senate itatupiliwa mbali.. president will be powerful position once again.. and then there will be another Moi for 24 years, wanna bet.

cc @Masukuma....if the jubilee takes us this way, we'll be stuck again..and it affects all of us!!...and after UK, Man Giddy will be pushed down our throats...

After all that has/is happening anything is possible in Kenya will never doubt a man giddy presidency...sad state of affairs.

even if we devolve to the sub location level, without proper strong institutions, self suffering and sacrifice coupled with a leadership willing to look after the common man's issues - it won't matter we will still be plagued by the same old issues. It doesn't mater where the services are coming from national or at county level.
the senate is made up of what has been refereed to as some of the best legal minds in the country, and if they all fell into this fiasco I doubt if what they are trying to do now is worthwhile.

Do we have any NGOs monitoring public expenditure under this experimental Katiba Bandia?
Methinks Kenyans need to collecy 1 million signatures to disband either Senate or Parliament!
If every county has a parliament can we afford a Narobi Parliament
talk of duplication of duties
I am for scrapping o the national assemby we remain with Senators only... any takers?

that will disenfranchise heavily populated areas. Nairobi and Lamu would have equal number of votes(1). The county assembly is important to keep the governors in check
