This bill on the special tribunal looks like the way to go. I see many mps supporting it even cabinet ministers. That the president will be stripped of immunity and have no influence over the tribunal is absolutely perfect. I pray the Hon. Succeeds in this timely venture

I can't comment before i read it to the letter even though i would trust Imanyara to come up with something fairly acceptable by Kenyans and the world at large.........Maybe we could start with a link to the draft.......on the flipside,would the bill entail a constitutional change and thus 2/3 mpigs for it or it's a simple majority motion?.

If i heard correctly,the draft bill will be made available over the internet on wednesday. The public will have the opportunity to give their views on areas of improvement

The unfortunate thing is that juz as Karua's Bill flopped in February,so may this one also as marshalling 145 pro Mps is no joke. The Imanyara group is well aware of this......meaning the matter might ultimately be left to ICC,which is still a welcome move to the group. However most Mps are now saying they shot down Karua's Bill becoz it lacked the clauses input by Imanyara. Take note that Mutula, Wako and Orengo had drafted this same bill that the Cabinet rejected,that's why it will be brought up as a private member's bill.

For once this parliamentary term Imanyara appears to be doing something more serious than picking fights with the First Family.

On immunity of the president,I think it boils down to whether we want a president who has been investigated and found liable to prosecution to continue being our president. If he is not the president then we can prosecute him even under our current law giving him immunity. The issue therefore should be whether indictment should not be a ground for resignation and loss of office for all suspects including the president as well as ministers,police commissioner and some of whom have security of tenure,like the AG. It is not about immunity of the president (though that is headline grabbing) but whether people should continue holding office. I have serious reservation in ministers who may be suspects in published reports of repute sitting in cabinet to decide on their fate. Ditto MPS.
