The problem is the number of zero rated goods is/are so many due to lobbying by so many sectors...there should be a streamlining of this so that essebtial goods...food stuffs especially should be free from VAT...iys really going to be a delicate balance... 30% top rate tax is not high we are a tax haven of sorts compared to other jurisdictions...the problem is the taxes collected dont work for us and there is so much wasteful expenditure...if taxes should go up we need to have them work for our benefit... possunt quia posse videntur
