I hope they did not pay for this bad imitation. What's happening to the Kenya creative minds? Are they rotting? Yaani they couldn't even rip-off another bank not called National Bank? Sauna adApparently these 2 fakes came from the same ad agency. What an easy way to make mulas. BBI will solve it :)

Are they all supposed to be a play on the first letter (N)?

I'm actually very disappointed by National Bank Kenya and/or the agency that conned them into buying this. BBI will solve it :)

The rebranding was completely unnecessary aside from the poor choice of color resembling 'top layer'. NBK should have shifted focus on delivering consistent growth, being more innovative, growing the client base and establishing a wider branch presence.

Rebranding may be the first phase, lets give them a chance. Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.... I have never met a better case for rebranding as this. This guys more than needed complete make-over, plastic surgery, overhaul etc. They had a terrible image visually and emotionally. This was a perfect case for rebranding. That said, I love the yellow and brown but it's unfortunate they had to go and copy an existing logo for another National Bank. I also don't like the slogan/tagline Banking on Better. Better than who BBK? KCB? Equity? Or are they saying they are now better than they were which leads me to ask; who cares? BBI will solve it :)

The common Kenyan out there will never know if this was copied from another bank, the only resemblance that may matter is that of Nation Media. Banking on Better is ok, its simple and easy to remember. 'Making the difference' doesn't inspire either. The choice of color is what was right with this re-branding, its what the common man will identify with, being a 'shouting color' will make sure we notice it anywhere we go. Look at MTN.

Rebranding is sometimes one of the easiest way to make some "extra" cash for top managers The man who marries a beautiful woman, and the farmer who grows corn by the roadside have the same problem

Remembering Safaricom [Niko na...] vs Qantas Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

Maybe I'm looking at this from a different mindset and need to change. kryptonite wrote:This logo was done in South Africa by Interbrand Sampson. If you look closely you'll notice a perfect circle in the negative space between the two blue shapes, which is like the roller on a printing press and giving the impression of paper rolling through a press ...of course it also forms the letter "N" The harder you work, the luckier you get

If you look closely you'll notice that the yellow is National Geographic yellow. Looks like this guys googled National... (images) and put together a logo. BBI will solve it :)
