simonkabz maybe you don't know but the police service is not under "these" civilians but is headed by the IG.

So I may agree with you that the security situation has been worse under his leadership.

Please tell us what is going on and stop blaming others for the problems in the force.

Every company in the world has a command structure. What needs to happen is to follow what the president asked which was to work together to solve the problems. I think that was very wise counsel. Instead of trying to usurp power from "these" civilians.

Thus far, I'd give his record a D and I can't see how you giving him more power decreases the rapes in Dandora. Or is that the fault of the civilians too?

Seems you won't understand anything I say. IG HAS NO POWERS AT ALL my friend. Do you live in Kenya? Refer to my 1st comment here n read it very slowly .

The IG is behaving like the MPs, you apply for a job knowing very well what it entails and then you wanna change the rules after you get into office, as we have been asking the MPs, let him resign if he can't execute his mandate.

So I note here that the IG is not to blame for the attacks we witnessing, but one Kavulundi, whose holding to IG's German shepherd?
and, that our police may as well show the IG the middle finger; ata do? Then can we have someone from the museums archive the 'salute' please .
I read here that the IG is planning raid the NPC office safe where one Kavulundi hides 'powers' allegedly in cahoot with Nyanchaes son stole from the IG.

A bid to increase the powers of the Inspector-General of Police and curtail the functions of the parent commission has received backing from MPs.

Thursday, the Parliamentary Committee on Administration and National Security expressed support for the amendments to the National Police Service Act to, among other things, vest the powers of transferring, promoting and disciplining police officers solely under the Inspector-General. Currently, the powers are vested in the National Police Service Commission (NPSC).

The committee’s chairman, Mr Asman Kamama (Tiaty), said the amendments will give the Inspector-General a free hand to run the force without directions from the NPSC.

its more about command of the foot soldier on duty than power play and pr. a vice kind of grip is a must. activism in the force cannot be tolerated, amendment is in order.

Support Kimaiyo on this, the police must be a disciplined force.

The issue here is that of ppower vs responsibility. Kavuludi has power, but the buck stops with Kimaiyo. IG will and has taken all the blme when stuff goes wrong. Let the IG be checked by Npsc like boards check ceos but they must not participate in day to day running of the force.
