EU has lifted an embargo on arms shipments, Britain says they will arm the rebels, Obama wants to enforce a no-fly zone, Russia says they will supply anti-aircraft missiles to Assad forces and Israel says they will do everything to stop it.

Somehow the game must end. I wonder how Kenya is positioning itself.

I fear it's going to be very messy.

Actually Assad is from a minority tribe and his fighters are fiercely loyal. The war has also brought about shia/sunni divisions in the Arab world.

If Russia is on Assad's side, then the security council is on stalemate. But the stalemate is focused on creating 'new' centers of power.

Battlefronts are diverse; diplomacy, trade, military, ideology . . .

Political stability may be akin to that of the cold war or even the world wars. Kenya has been with the British/ Americans in the last two wars, but what about now?

Soldiers are weapons. So we give soldiers just like in the past?

Why don't we create a new center of power through diplomatic tact? I am sure we can pull a surprise.

Obama CANNOT risk his political life by committing troops. France and Italy have said they are ready to enforce a no-fly zone.
