Suzuki Jimny 1996 model. Pretty run down body but engine runs great and the 4WD is impressive. I need the sagging bumper fixed and the body repainted. I also want the interior souped up a bit. As far as the mechanics go, the car needs a new suspension system and some good rust treatment in the engine.

Took it to CMC today and they couldn't as much as look at the "jalopy"! First person I asked at the reception said to wait until she spots the mech passing then she'll draw his attention to my car. She left after 5 minutes without the mech ever happening. Next person I asked said no mech to look at the car. Couldn't even leave with a quote, but he gave me an appointment for 3rd April anyway - though I asked to be scheduled for 1st April. No explanations given. Nani najua specialist ya hii gari. The one who can help me with the suspension.

By the way, is there anything that can be done to a car body and engine to get rid of rust completely?

@Seppuku,

Yes.There is a process known as sand blasting.It involves sand in a barrel forced through a nozzle by high pressure compressed air.Then follow with normal paint work and you kiss rust good-bye.See a demo of fine sand blasting in the video below.
