Dear All,

First i would like to thanks all the members for this forum. It is a forum for sharing ideas that is better than money. I am new here and i am looking for ideas...

I am Wagaturu. My friend and I would like to start a dairy farm Project in Nakuru on half an acre plot.

We would like to start with about 15 to 20 dairy cows on a zero grazing system.

We have done quite a lot of research on zero grazing, feeding, feed mixing, silage, structures, diseases etc.

Guys, apart from our local banks that rarely support new Start-ups, are there organizations both public and private or even NGOs that can finance such a project?

Can brookside, USAID, Dairy Board, Heifer International fund such a project? Any Ideas? Ideas?

Anybody with a good experience and is not shy to share?

Any ideas will be so much welcome.

My email address is kimanicom at gmail dot com. (kimanicom@gmail.com).

Thanks once again Wazuans.

Wagaturu.

There was a double-spread advertorial in yesterday's Daily Nation 14th May 2013 by Small Scale Dairy Farmers Association.

Announcing the launch of their web portal: www.livestockportal.co.ke

Check it out, it might be of help.

All the best and let us know how it goes.

@Wagaturu, You are a step ahead of me, and I hope we will learn and share from each other.

In the spirit of educating, informing and learning from others, if you can share some guidelines especially in feed mixing and silage making at heiban12 at gmail.com.

....He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion..
