So what was he telling the investors? That our judiciary cannot be trusted! Huh! Same as telling them to keep away! Africa has no democracy! Only whites are trustworthy!

Maybe he was making a financial return on how their contributions towards the just concluded elections and the subsequent petition was spent.

Then he should get started on the process of changing the constitution.
I don't think there's a good or bad system. They are all open to abuse. The parliamentary system can be abused as well by a dominant, majority party.

BBI will solve it

Great speech from Raila. Coming from him it lends more credence than an ad on CNN.

On the issue of transitioning to a parliamentary system of government, the challenge lies in the primary unit which is the political party. Political parties have not yet matured, are still steeped in personality cults, tribal in nature and devoid of sound ideology.

Why people rally around tribe is due to lack of equitable resource allocation. While we cannot wish tribe away, we should use devolution as a resource redistribution mechanism that diminishes the role that tribe (read negative ethnicity) plays within our politics.

When I hear that we should give MPs more power to determine our leadership, I shudder when I continually hear their demands for salary increments and additional perks at the expense of setting the legislative agenda that will allow this economy to grow and create wealth for its citizens.

Raila needs to realize that sight falls with age, and he needs to let a young one hold his hand and take him home.

Ah! The problem is that the youngsters around him are asleep.

Poor Man, has he no worthy Children?

Let us leave OAR alone. I think since he 'lost', he has carried himself VERY well beyond the expectations of 'others' here. Let the guy be, he is a Kenyan and allowed to express his opinions provided the audience he is in is ready to listen.
