Could we be headed to a coffee boom circa 1970s?

I came upon this news item and need an understanding of the impact on our coffee industry.

The other producers are also reading this. Competition for higher production by other producers will see the price stagnate after a small rise.

Unfortunately Coffee supply is very price inelastic in the short term... How long does it take a farmer to harvest his first coffee beans if he reads this story and runs to plant today??

Coffee auction in Kenya is normally held at KPCU building every Tuesday and not in Mombasa as You mention. Only Tea auctions are held in Mombasa.
