The global recession is here with Kenyans..

The west is not buying as much as it used to. The effects of this,of course are obvious-job cuts in the flower industry etc. The tourism industry continues to suffer as less people have little money to spend on vacations.

The mass lay offs and closures of hotels at the coast last year is a good example of how globalised the economy is… in the developed countries lay off are know a common thing in Kenya.

The Kenyan government has suspend all recruitments in its ministries

Zain (Kenya) has retrenched 141 staff.

Safaricom has suspended all new hiring.

Custody and registers have retrenched 12 staff.

Barclays bank has retrenched over 2000 directs sales staff

All top manager at stanchart had cut they salaries by 25%.

Chevron (k) has retrenched all they Kenya junior staffs.

In the investment banking majority of stock brokers like dyer and blair suntra have laid off they staff.

Majority of companies in Kenya have predicted reduced profits coming next year.

All fund managers in Kenya are experiencing many withdrawal hence liquidity problem.

And the list continues………………………………………………………………..

Financial freedom is our birthright, rather than the 'slave walk' of the Monday through Friday grind.
