True proponent of Vodoo Economics (google it). Produce the goods first, then look for the market. Works wonders when dealing with cars, but disastrous when dealing with perishables.

@bartum,try speaking to some big players in the flower industry eg.Homegrown,Oserian...i know they buy flowers from small growers and they then export as their product

Hi Bartum,I am interested in your experience with the venture. I am exploring summer flowers and would like you to share your experience on the same particularly production costs, acreage done, complexity of growing carnations and the returns. Have 2 idle greenhouses and looking for something to grow therein. Inbox me bella.tropen@gmail.com. Will really appreciate.

Hey guys,

Just joined the forum and happy that there people who are already doing what i want to venture in.

For anyone who has ventured in the summer flowers carnations and arabicum to be specific, please advice a garl here!!

Will really appreciate especially on the market availability! I am more interested in selling the carnations cuttings as opposed to growing the flowers to maturity

are these guys still in flower business?

Go for roses. The demand for kenyan roses is growing.
I know where the market is,but we need good reliable volumes.
