KENGEN is reporting that its hydro dams are full and the excess water could have been channelled to the high grand falls dam.Energy supply could be a thing of the past and now we could be thinking of distribution.

@murchr;The money being spent to construct the Olkaria I and IV to generate 280 MW is enough to construct the Grand Falls Dam with a capacity to generate about 1200MW. Since 2010 we have been having heavy rains and the water has been going to waste. The revenue generated from this power stations could then have been used to fund the geothermal power.The dam could also have a reservoir that can last a year plus. Hydro power is the cheapest source of power and now we could be enjoying cheaper electicity tariffs and there would have been no need of raising the tariffs. Ethiopia suffered the worst drought in the world in 1984 but has that stopped them from constructing hydro power dams. The issue of geothermal energy was an avenue of some people to enrich themselves because of the huge capital cost involved otherwise why was Ahmed Abednassir on Eddy Njoroge's case concerning these projects that some people were enriching themselves.

A lesson for me. Populism not sense/logic will always won out. Sigh, I shall bail out ASAP. Where's @thedeal who prefers Umeme to KPLC...
