to young, Giving-it-

Good afternoon,

Got the message below through Facebook. Be careful and if you've
experienced, please don't keep silent.

Terry

I Thought i should alert you since you have a bigger network and so
you can alert more people than i can on Kenol Kobil specifically Yaya.
On Saturday mid-morning i drove into KenolKobil Yaya and fueled, 5
minutes later my car stalled. Guess what it was WATER not PETROL. i
got a tow track and took the car to the garage where they did the
diagnostics, they found that i have fueled water and not petrol. i
went back tot he station, the supervisor says that its possible
because it had rained heavily the previous day. we tried to reach the
owner but he is dodgy and will not pick my calls.
i have reported it at Kilimani police station but as usual the police
says i need more evidence and more people that fueled at that station
for me to have a case (civil if not criminal) against the station.

kindly send out a warning to people, i may not win this one and
probably have to fought the whole bill for the car repair but at-least
i can warn people not to get to the same spot as I'm right now.
Thanks
BE ALL WARNED and please pass the message to your networks!!!"

I sympathise with you, but have to say your post is misleading. It insinuates (in my mind) that KK is the problem, bit I think that the specific filling station is the problem. The nature of problem could also have affected any other station.

Your complaint on bad customer service is a source of concern, which is where your grouse should be aimed.

Why not forward the complaint to KK? They are the ones who supervise the dealers.

Aah Ohh, it appears to be true. A quick Google Search led to the actual complainant and steps taken.

So I just want to say thank you. I wouldn't want to go through this...

This is a follow up on this......

Dear KenolKobil Limited
-Im so DEEPLY embarrassed with your slogan, how do you say{ You care for all} and end up frustrating your customers. Its the high time you walk your talk . Kenol kobil Yaya dispensed adulterated fuel into my car{MERC-E500}. I had a meeting Monday 3.17pm at LANDMARK PLAZA with Carole Mavuti, the Public relations manager and Othmane Chaoui ,the new HOD . We deliberated on the issue and it was clear that Keniol Kobil fuel had significant amount of water. We gave a specimen sample and photos taken to the KK staff . The following day, I got feedback from Mavuti that the dealer will foot the repair bills. I met the dealer yesterday at Dormans Yaya and he reluctantly agreed to settle the bill. My efforts to reach Carole and the dealer have proved futile today. Question- Who owns KK Yaya- I cannot be duped in my Country where the rule of law prevails.Watch my steps.I have never seen a corporate organisation playing such games. This is unprofessional, shambolic unwarranted and the people in this will face the full force of the law.

......... Be warned.

The power of social media; they appear to be talking quickly in hushed tones. Maybe this substrata loss is having lower gravitational pull smile

This happens quite frequently during heavy rains. Last year at engen, thika rd, i and other motorists had the same experience. The dealer was reasonable and he organised for the emptying of the tanks at his cost and gave each one of us a full tank for the agony without a fuss! It helps to complain directly and immediately since water goes to the bottom of the tank- where the fuel pump is, the car would stall, miss within minutes. Dont bother the police, they are busy scheming, whence cometh the next TKK.

So I was doing some trawling around Mukuru Kwa Zuckerberg (Facebook)
and I landed on this RINK.

Seems like the fuel attendants at Kenol Kobil , the one next to Yaya Centre put water in the fuel tank of a Mercedes E500 Brick wall belonging to a guy called Stan Mogere. The car stalled a few metres from the Fuel Station. Then previously I had read about the same thing happening to a lady Shame on you who had a Toyota IST. All the engines for the Merc and the IST have knocked. These two people actually have receipts to prove that they did fuel at the said station.
Kenol Kobil has admitted that the heavy rains might have entered the underground fuel tanks, but are playing cat and mouse games with the victims. Not talking Not talking
In the same breathe I hear there are some petrol stations, the notorious ones owned by Oil Libya who have doctored their machines and you dont get the exact amount of fuel you pay for. This has happened to me once in Oil Libya Lang'ata. My car stalled on the NBO-MSA highway and created MASSIVE TRAFFIC not to mention being in danger of getting hit by oncoming traffic!Pray
Have any Wazuans experienced these things in our Fuel Stations? Sad Sad
Lets talk.
If you think you can, and if you think you can't , either way, you are right!

Its true about water seeping through to the underground tanks. A friend who operates a big station under one of the big franchises has been forced to stop selling for the last week after they discovered water inside the tanks. All stations have a gadget of checking every morning so its still not a good excuse.
