3) on the other hand, appearing in person will gather them some more sympathy votes ( i can imagine the rally they will have at the airport upon return) remember any publicity whether +ve or -ve is is a good

It reminds me of Ruto's sentiment b4 elections....that if they are elected, they hope ICC Court is ran by people who understands that they have the responsibility of running a country and thus they should cooperate accordingly.
