Someone kindly advice me whether using Machine Cut Stones(Ndarugo) is a good option having heard the cons below:

1.They are not good for outside walling because of sipping in water.
2. They crack easily.
3. They are ALL of poor quality than the ordinary quarry stones.

I've visited several construction sites and seen them in
use even for outside walling, right after the ground level.

From the much research I've done I gathered there are several grades and that's what makes the difference. Is it true?

Are ordinary quarry stones of superior quality?

I'd like to make a saving but not at the expense of quality and durability.

There is high quality Ndarugo stones that you can used for external walling which are hard but much more expensive and in high demand. Some tend to look light brown. Avoid the black ones.

Alternative is to used quarry stones and have them smooth dressed for external walls and then use Ndarugo for internal walls.

Grade 1 machine cuts are ok. They are good coz building is chap chap and you really save on cement and plaster. If you use the for outside walling, you can either plaster or clad them to avoid water sippage

Your contractor should be able to give you a sample. If you have discerning look, you can easily tell. The poor grade breaks easily and gets soaked with water while the opposite is true for Grade 1.

Kama unajenga mwenyewe, ask 3-4 suppliers to give you a sample and a quote. You should be able to deduce.
