Have you ever looked at parliament's calendar? There won't be enough time to discuss matters to do with counties properly while passing national legislation at the same time.

By the way; all those saying we do away with the senate, did you send that proposal to the CoE when they were drafting the katiba? Such a major change cannot be something you just came to realise after the election was concluded!

I disagree, we need to strengthen political parties and not individuals. If you lose a Presidential election you need to go back to your party and seek fresh mandate to be their leader. I have no issue with the nomination coming from the Party but mambo ya kusema katiba ibadilishwe to accomodate individuals hapana. I think in future Presidential candidates and their running mates will make sure their names appear on the nomination list to be submitted to IEBC just incase. The number of votes you received in the Presidential election should also not be used as an excuse to get back to power, fact remains you still lost the election.....Perhaps Waititu also deserves direct nomination to the county assembly or even Dep. Governor because he came second and received more than 600K votes in the Nairobi Gubernotarial race.

Useless timetable.Parliament runs from Tuesday afternoon to Thursday.There is hardly quorum and they even have vacation,recess etc.The mpigs should work Monday to Friday from 8am to 5p.m with a 30 minute tea break and a 1 hour lunch break.For those away they should get written permission from the clerk.
The other part that should be amended is to reduce the women representatives to a maximum of 16 i.e 2 for each of the former provinces.
