Sad state of insecurity in our country. The manner in which the three CID officers were gunned down proves one thing under cover cops have always taken for granted: thugs know which cars they use. Those 'wepesi' Peugeots are so obvious now. And so are the white NZEs and Peugeot 307s. In my humble,patriotic opinion,this aint the way to do undercover work. But other than staff rotation,what other tenable ways can be applied to arrest crime. I suggest;
1) Salary increment for police force across the board. This will attract 'career policemen' to the force,not just opportunists.
2) Tougher laws against corruption in the force: 10 years in the slammer for bribe taking and extortion.
3) Merging of AP units and regular police force: Crime hotspots such as Nairobi can have 'metro police' but the other units should operate under one command.
4) Reward schemes on compete crime investigations: Cops need motivation too,people.
5) Dealing with the Somali/illegal immigrants issue so as to stop the flow of illegal firearms.
DISCLAIMER: I'm suggesting these ideas as a peace loving patriot. No malice whatsoever.
