I don't think it will be a surprise if he wins Machakos County Governor. I personally have a lot of respect for him, he has made his mistakes, but show me who hasn't. Look at what he is able to do with Golden Dreams while all other civil servant can do is spend their time in conferences and loot from public coffers.

Alfred Mutua is the Governor of Machakos.

March 4th will be mere formality - Coronation.

he will have to address serious environmental concerns around Mavoko and pollution of river Athi which is causing increased cases of leukemia downstream, reclaim kitengela(grabbed during kanu times by gaarment) and lay a stake on management of JKIA which is in Mavoko/Kathiani the same way coasterians claim KPA

She has nothing to show for 5 yrs in Kathiani , plus her family sits on large tracts of land in Mavoko...people are detesting the seemingly elitist aka status quoist

Friends, you seem to have forgotten the last time this guy was given some "power", he short-circuited and went beserk, irritating all of us.

Do you think the nature of the man could have changed?

I never imagined people hated Mutua this much. Sadly although he may have his own weaknesses like each one of us, to a great extent he was a victim of Kenya media. I happen to be a close friend to someone in the media and from what I get, the guys that we look upon to tell us what we believe are worse than the general society, they can be bought and are usually bought, they cam malign you name just because you are better than them or just because you do not entertain silly questions or just because you do not befriend them. Mutua is a Journalist Just like them but has achieved so much more than his colleagues outside his career.

Sadly and I know I will attract so much hate, the media decides what they want to tell us. At times they do not bring the issues 100% as they happened but will force us to believe something by bringing pieces of information from someone statement. And Mutua was a victim of this many times.

Of course he was also disliked by supporters of one of the Principal because he appeared to be speaking for the other Principal. Of course he knew who had given him the Job. And this happens everyday to almost all of us who are employed. It is called loyalty
I am confident Mutua may just surprise us if he wins the Machakos seat

I made this post on September 04, 2012 and rightly said he could win this.
I watched most of the debates from all counties and no governor seemed to have the detailed master plan on how to do his work as Mutua did. Again, I will not be surprised if he became the best performing governor in the country. He has what it takes. But I expect Muthama will fight him very hard. But I wish him all the best and I hope Machakos People will stand with him.

I hated him as the government spokesman but not the individual. I also tend to see what you see in him and agree he will be among the best performing Governors. Granted Cobra Squad was crap and those stones on Uhuru highway were borderline idiotic but you could see what he was trying to do and admire the drive.

Mutua faces an enormous task but his policies may succeed if they are people centered. Machakos has a huge potential but he needs to invest in the population. Now need to have his number for kandarasi(s)

Hi bro. I think you will have to eat your hat.!!!!

I don't know what kind of hat you have and the material it is made of.

I suggest you start to marinate the hat with herbs, lime juice, chillies, salt etc. etc.

It will when you have to eat the hat.
