I was looking forward to skiing but i have to put it on hold.

Uprooting someone from Nairobi and taking them to a beautiful snow covered location situated 9,600 feet (2,900 meters) above sea level (Breckenridge, CO), is just sickening.

You mean with all this rain you could not find a place to "hura nyororoka" in Kenya. Just come back look for any river bank and ask the local boys to find you a good spot. Its free (well it may cost you a few pairs of shorts) and it will not make you sick.

This is a hint! Just don't leave a bun, there are posts here that say you might not live to see another mountain!

Eh,dude...
At first i thought you've left for the skiing plot and was brought down the high altitude zone with a severe case of pulmonary oedema or similar, only to realize you're holding back from what you haven't even experienced as yet!

Jameni, the place is only 2900M ASL.. Nairobi where i assume you live,is 1,795M ASL.. considering you still have time before you leave, why don't you spend a few days at a high altitude area just to acclamatize beforehand? If you're fit or energetic, you can tackle one of the hills around eg Ngong hills at almost 2000M or Longonot at 2780M

And if push comes to shove and you feel even a taste of baridi beforehand is your cup of tea, then head down to Mt.Kenya and stay at 'Shiptons camp'. high altitude and freezing cold

Don't just give up on a skiing dream whilst you have pre-skiing options all around you! unless of course you have another reason as to why you don't want to go.....
