Laptop Screen-Rainbow like

My laptop fell from bed and hit the ground. on hitting the ground,though it is able to boot,the screen displays halfway and the other half is lines up and up and down and unable to display a task . please advise

Most probably the screen has broken and if so only replacement will solve the problem! in the meantime you can get 15 pin both ends male cable and connect to a normal monitors and if the display is full,you will have isolated to it to the problem above.BTW which make and model is your laptop?

Pole. I hear laptops r very difficult 2repair bt i think u better walk in2 any reputable comp shop n be adviced.
Wakishindwa ku repair,n with tha recent swine flu scare in tha country,u might want 2take it 4testing.

Yes,Labtops are hard to repair. I droped my sonny 6 months ago and it lost its video card functionality. I consulted an expart and he said there was no way to replace the card.
