I would not exactly use the words desperately tribal but that is who we are and I don't think it is anything we should be ashamed of.
Would you say we are desperately tribal because of the spouses that we choose? A majority of people choose to marry people of the same tribe.
I think it is Nelson Mandela who said that if you speak to a man in a language that he understands you speak to his mind but if you speak to him in his own language you speak to his heart. A client lawyer relationship is a close relationship and you want to be sure your lawyer really understands you and your position... he is your representative in court....... if issues of law were not so complicated, the ideal case would be you arguing your own case in court.... so you want as close a relationship as you can get with him and admittedly tribal ties are ties that bind strongly ....... nothing wrong with that.
To hire a lawyer to represent you is a private affair and there is no obligation to "have a face of Kenya" on your personal representative.
