This will be his first competitive match, he definitely needs more time to work with the team.....

Last 6 AFCON winners failed to win the 1st match they played after being crowned AFCON winners: 2D 4L.

FKF writes protest letter to Nigeria Football Federation. NFF were to book Stars on a connecting flight to Calabar on arrival in Lagos this afternoon. Instead they booked Stars in a low class hotel in Lagos with no training ground nearby! Annoying what the Nigerians have done but my question to FKF though, is why don't we ever send an advanced party of officials to ensure such things are sorted out?

Herve Renard (Zambia Coach) was first appointed as manager in 2008 and two years later he led Zambia to the quarter final stage of AFCON for the first time in 14 years. Two years later they became African Champions. Hapa Kenya we want instant results hata when the manager hasn't had enough time with the players. Adel Amrouche just recently had his first session with the foreign based players, don't also forget that he was appointed at a time when the local league was in off-season so he doesn't really know what quality of players he has at his disposal.....think he's probably relying on Nandwa. I'm certain majority of Kenyans can't even name our starting eleven. We can't keep demanding for a new coach whenever we lose a match.

Mike Friday (Sevens Coach) was appointed in Feb 2012 and one year later he led the Kenya 7s team to one its best performances in Wellington.

@TAZ, he is not relying on Nandwa as he has dismantled Nandwa's team.....I wish him and Kenya all the best, always a patriot!

i was chatting with my 9ja friend about the issue and this is what he has to say

'I can tell you that this is sensational write up to whip sentiments.
What happened was that your team arrived after the only flight that goes to calabar had left and were then told that the next flight will be next day.
They then asked to use a nearby school to loosen up
I had your coach speak this morning as he confirmed that they are ok and ready to hit Calabar today.
I also listened to your players on sports track this morning saying they are ready to beat Eagles in Nigeria, just like Nigeria Players are saying that Harambe Stars are no match to them. These are some of the things that make sports interesting.
Some of the journalist sensationalise things and I have come to know that these are part of sports war fare which is expected though.
No qualms my brother, Nigeria and Kenya remains the best of friends and your Ambassador here in Nigeria attested to the fact the Kenya in South Africa supported Nigeria during the last AFCON

so guys forget the rage!

FKF should have sent some of its officials in advance to make sure everything was in place for the arrival of the team.....

"African Club champions Al Ahly from Egypt toured Kenya for their CAF Champions League match against Tusker FC. According to reliable sources, the team sent in an advance team of officials who inspected all the facilities to be used by their team when they land in Nairobi. The official held a series of meetings with the Kenya Federation officials .He also rejected the CAF approved 680 hotel located in the heart of Nairobi and instead requested the host team Tusker FC to give them the money meant to pay for 680 accommodation, topped up the same and booked their players at the Five stars Laico regency a few blocks away.

The Al Ahly team also came with their own chef and carried their own food from Cairo. Their Egyptian Embassy in Nairobi was directly involved in the organization of the match, security, training ground and transport for all the days the team spent in Nairobi."

FKF PRESS RELEASE
Football Kenya Federation wishes to bring to
your attention on the following chronology of
events regarding Harambee stars trip to Nigeria
for the FIFA 2014 Brazil World Cup Qualifier.
On 27th February 2013 Football Kenya
Federation wrote a letter to the Nigerian High
Commission in Nairobi seeking entry visas for
the Kenyan Delegation to Nigeria the same was
copied to the Nigerian Football Federation.
On 27th February 2013 FKF wrote to the Nigeria
Football Federation requesting information on
the date, venue; kick off time, and other match
modalities, the same was copied to FIFA/CAF.
The Nigeria Football Federation never
responded to the letter but FIFA through an
email on 4th March 2013 responded detailing
the above requests.
On 12th March 2013 –The Nigeria Football
Federation through a Mr Bolao Akins a
coordinator for the trip from the Nigeria
Football Federation made contact with our High
Commission in Nigeria through it 1st Counselor
Mr Anthony Masinde and requested the FKF to
send to the Nigeria Football Federation the
names of all members of the Kenyan delegation
in order for Nigeria Football Federation secure
air tickets for the Lagos /Calabar flight.
He also confirmed that the Kenyan team will be
flown directly from Lagos to Calabar upon
arrival and the team/delegation was booked at
the Channel View hotel in Calabar.
The Nigeria Football Federation also requested
our association to send them a commitment
letter, our request to bring a contingent of 35
persons on reciprocal basis on the
understanding that we shall also host a similar
Number during the return leg match. Mr. Bolao
also provided us with his cell phone number/
email address and was in constant contact with
our Federation regarding the hosting
arrangements.
On 17th March without any communication from
Nigeria Football Federation we submitted the
final list to the General Secretary of NFF
comprising of 35 persons and indicating the
flight, time of departure and estimated arrival
time in Lagos, also copied to our High
Commissioner.
On the same day The Nigeria Football
Federation acknowledged receipt of our email
detailing our delegation and arrival time
advised us to obtain entry visas in Nairobi
instead of upon arrival.
On Tuesday 19th The Kenya High Commission in
Lagos communicated to FKF that the NFF
officials will be at the Murtala Muhammed
Airport in Lagos to receive the delegation upon
arrival for a smooth transfer to the Lagos/
Calabar flight.
The same was confirmed to FKF and the Kenya
High Commissioner by the Nigeria Football
Federation President.
Harambee Stars departed from Nairobi on
Wednesday 20th March, 2013 aboard KQ
arriving at Lagos- but to our utter surprise the
Nigeria Football Federation had not made any
hosting arrangements as earlier agreed.
There was no flight to Calabar and the team
was then booked in a sub standard hotel, with
no training, ground availed, no official guide
thus in violation of all agreements as well as
the FIFA hosting right obligations.
Football Kenya Federation immediately filed a
strong protest to FIFA and Nigeria Football
Federation over the whole issue forcing FIFA to
intervene. Therefore the various media reports
over poor planning by FKF as raised are
inaccurate, false, malicious and in bad taste.
We wish to reiterate that Kenya has won
accolades from various visiting teams for its
exemplary hosting arrangement and are
amazed at this wild allegations against the
Federation.
Signed:- Date: 21 March 2013
Michael Esakwa

According to a source who's not authorized to speak on behalf of crystal ball, Harambee stars will for the first time defeat Nigeria. They will score 2 goals- One will be rejected if not so it will be deemed controversial.
