We tried 3 maids from our tribe ..all disappointed us until we got a made from a different tribe .....we were never disappointed hence forth.

I mean fundamental analysis,you get me?

In my house,we employ only from our tribe.

The reason is cultural (we want our children to be fluent in our mother tongues); not tribalistic

@Mukiha,

Children are unlikely to learn other languages from househelps.......They pick them from playmates........I say so because my second born has a good grasp of both Ekegussi and Dholuo,yet we have never had a househelp from either tribes.....

@ reox,

You remind me of a joke about this Maori tour guide who was on a tour with English tourists.Pointing to an open field,he told them' This is where my ancestors had their first taste of Christianity' The excited tourists took out their cameras and filled with curiosity they asked ' really?' Maori 'oh yes,they ate them.'

1) I REALLY value diversity. In my business employees are from Gema-5,Luo-2,Luhya-2,Kamba-2,and Masai-1. We use competencies as criteria for employment and diversity brings some richness of ideas.

2) In the house - current home manager from a different tribe from mine. We have had different tribes working in the house for us.

3) My observation is that most people from especially Western,Nyanza and part of rift valley would rather have people from their tribes as their employees. They do not trust other tribes....

What happens to the families where you have mother and father from different communities? would SHE/HE be saying 'we have one from our community' (referring to HER community) or 'not from our community (referring to HIS community'?)

Well,have had gals from different communities and that hasnt been a problem so far. In fact,as a rule,we don't speak in mother tongue in our house including the housegal - no matter the tribe.
