Dear Members,

We have received all your comments - few appreciative, some informative, several unsavory. Yet ours is only a reaction, the causative action emanates from a few errant users. It is time to take responsibility!

Rule and policies:
1. Every day, one thread only Politics update for [date] will be created
2. All members will be allowed to only post links to reputable news sources with an explaining line or caption
3. Text of article should not be copied in full to the thread
4. No member may post the same link more than once
5. Post should not state personal opinions

If the rules appear too restrictive, simply avoid Politics altogether. It will be critical for members to castigate those who deviate from the rules.

Kindly note, should more than five members willingly violate the rules on any material day, they will have succeeded in freezing political discussions.

The Wazua spirit
To educate, inform, and learn from each other irrespective of our differences.

Second example of post, respectfully, as below:

Quote:
Prime Minister Raila Odinga is now demanding a forensic audit of the entire electronic system used in the March 4 presidential elections.

The robust & devastating demolition begins and I quote "BVR was not an IEBC issue, it was a Govt to govt procurement that skipped all laid down procedures and the process as we know was announced by the Prime Minister and his PS led initiative" end of quote

SO, can someone enlighten me, when is the SC going to rule? What is the correct date when the verdict will be out?

@KulaRaha Though they committed to conclude in two weeks, THE SUPREME COURT (PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION PETITION) RULES 2013 only states the following:

13. A post-polling petition challenging the election of the President
-elect shall be filed in Court within seven days after the date of the
declaration of the results of the presidential election

16. (1) There shall be a pre-trial conference nine days after the filing
of the petition.

17. The Court shall, within two days of the pre-trial conference,
commence the hearing of the petition.

27. Save in exceptional circumstances as may be determined by the
Court, the hearing of a petition once commenced shall proceed
uninterrupted on a day to day basis until its conclusion.

Anything can stretch a bit. Meanwhile I see IEBC quietly held some polls yesterday...

The Standard Digital:
IEBC repeats elections in Kuria East, Bunyala North and Samburu North for County representatives http://t.co/Qyejp5dBWJ

Wow, the uncertainty is hurting business. We need quick resolution of this dispute, I really thought 14 days was the max limit!
