I'm beginning to agree with mutahi ngunyi in support of stabilizing reforms. Let's not tamper too much with our current constitution. Let some of the president's current powers be distributed to other institutions. Let's have dual citizenship. Let's strengthen our systems of accountablity. It's a NO for me on this drafttoo

Another NO here for the draft constitution. Instituting a City Hall like situation to run national government is not acceptable.

They could just have instituted a rotating presidency going from one region to the next. That way all Kenyans will have a chance at the presidency.
Regional governments is a great idea - especially to promote competition amongst the different blocks.
Especially Coast province should run its own affairs. The coast government should revoke all those illegal land owners from upcountry and control a % of the revenue got from taxation at the port.

my understanding of executive PM is that after elections, the leader of leading party automtically takes over...nobody feels robbed... makes lots of sense...why bother voting for lame duck president...after all he is only ceremonial...who cares how he is (s)elected...i was once a pnu die-hard and wanted nothing to do with PM...but after the last election...i hve changed my mind...forget about voting for president...just vote for your mp ...focus more on the local elections...once mp is elected... thats it...the party leader takes over...there is no other election...sio kama mayor...emphasis shifts away from the centre...no need to storm KICC...no room for Kivuitu to ruin the country...

My advice to my fellow kenyans is this let us not keep on debating on some things that cannot benefit us. what we are after is good governance and accountability for us to move forward. if the constitution benefits the common man go for it but if not reject it. so let us not listen to this politicians who want to benefit themselves while we are suffering. if the powers btn the prezzo and PM will only make us reject the whole constitution then we have along way to go my fellow kenyans........... There b4 we have been voting for executive prezzo does it benefited us?????.....

Its a NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Orange team told us if there is 1% poison, the whole dish is not good for human consumption and should be thrown into the dustbin. The same issues that were in the Wako draft are still there in Kitonga draft...why is it ok now?

why dont then just do away with prezzy and have PM with all the powers and elected directly by the people???? why elect a clown???

......from the foregoing its quite apparent, just like one Macharia Gaitho has observed, that we are unable to divorce our defintion of the 2 offices from the current holders.

........until we appreciate the need to create institutions without regard to their current/possible holders, this katiba thing will not take us anywhere!!!!!!!!

Kamaa, that where the dilemma is. Does it mean that the president can now nominate his second in command at the party if he is elected president?

Don't sit and wait - look for the next opportunity
