What is this fascination about UK as the head?

KE is the hydrocarbons gateway for EA's oil & gas fat pay check. That's the main focus. The market sees this. Why can't people see this simple fact! Maybe from out here it's easier for me to filter the unnecessary noise...

I have a feeling he'll want the 2nd term, parliament now has alot of powers vetting behavior, media freedom etc My take is that he'll be an over achiever. If only to prove hague and the west wrong

This is a PR nightmare for Kenya...having a Pres who is now and there at the ICC...how will he focus on the job as he tries to clear his name at the ICC? What happens if one of them is taken in? Will the government hold? My understanding is one of the two has a very strong case.

I went out this morning but I'm not pleased has some shocks I got.president uk may have nothing to do with this but I would like to draw his attention:

the landlord in my neighbouring plot came with a notice to the tenants of increase in rent.raises eyebrows especially immediately after uk win was announced.I'm sure that its a matter of time before our Landlord does the same.
(on a 'willing' buyer basis) nani atatetea sisi ?

2.went to the nearby butcher.half kg is now 220/ from 200/ on Friday.
hope this is can be attributed to supply chain hiccups due to election outcome uncertainty.

3.a bunch of sukumawiki that was costing 5/- is now going at 7/- to 10/-

hope the tyranny of numbers doesnt go in to businesses as the social economic injustice will be worse especially in Nairobi county's lowest income groups.

I doubt whether we need to rely on a government for the containment of prices.

We need to work out 'a market solution' to the market.

I doubt whether we need to rely on a government for the containment of prices.

We need to work out 'a market solution' to the market.

the buck stops at the president's desk.
he will need sharp minds to come up with these market solutions.ensure inflationary pressures are kept in check.otherwise an inflationary spiral would be quite painful to bear

The west has never been known to preach water and drink it. Here's the way I see the current situation.

The West needs Kenya and UK also needs the west (despite statements to the contrary). That is a realistic situation.

If UK 'behaves' (does not do something that can irretrievably damage relations) then we are likely to have some good times ahead. The hydrocarbons debate and geopolitics lend credence to this scenario. As such the cases at the Hague can possibly be dropped (in a smart way to avoid hurting ICC).

I don't buy the argument that simply because we have oil then we can do just about anything. Iran has oil but where is the market? Heck, even Somalia has oil and that can be an alternative to those who may not get their hands on Kenyan oil.

My cents.

True. The Presidency has a role to play, but so does the citizenry. It's a very dynamic relationship.

If the citizen can play his role, then whole relationship changes.

Let us not forget that the Presidency and our nationhood are legitimate and are to be protected.
