This is a classic case of premature menopause usually caused by non production of follical stimulating hormone. Many causes available. Your friend needs hormonal assay test done to determine levels of estrogen,progestin etc. A sample of the lining of the uterus is needed for histology examination. This is usually obtained by a small surgical procedure commonly refered to as washing.

the procedure 'cleaning the womb' is actuallly uterine curettage,it has been shown to clean out the outer layer and periods will probably return. don't diss the gynae just yet,it might be the long awaited solution.
another thing to ask will be has she lost a significant amount of weight?? anorexics who diet too much and starve themselves reach a point they mess up normal hormone production and periods stop.

I met this lady friend last week .......to my suprise .......the periods have never shown up since 2007.....she ahas visited different gynos who have recommended all sorts of hormonal drugs ....no solution so far .....over 2 years since the last period....

Maybe she doesn't have any eggs in her ovary that would descend to cause the 'blood' . You know its the eggs that descend to the fellopian tube etc............leadng to period.

Fundah,could you be the one missing the periods and not the 'lady friend of yours'

She could have struck early menopause,its an isolated case but it does happen. Had a colleague who got her menopause at 31. Luckily she had one kid. So if she wanted some kids too bad she should consider I\VF treatment

some antidepressant drugs also interfer with periods
tell her to discontinue any contraceptives she might be using
what is her weight? her body could simply be deprived of essential nutrients
too much stress
last but not least and i hope to God it isnt the case,her uterus could be blocked,either from a failed abortion..infection etc

too many probabilities...WHO IS THE GYNA SHE IS SEEING?please tell her to visit a qualified gynacologist,for an ultrasound among other things.some old luhya herbalists are also quite good with reproductive issues.
