Imho, given the intended benefits of devolution, this now becomes a pivotal role.
A good governor will ensure that agriculture is a value-adding activity; health services are fit for purpose; turning county into a manufaturing hub; that developments in the county are planned; transport is up to scratch.
Hence, those who followed the six-suit nonsense or TNA/ODM is our mother party will be handcapped from the start
I haven't got the full list of governors, but when you look at the likes of Kabogo, Joho, one can tell who will be hindrances or waste of time. Thoughts?

Dont know about the other counties but I believe Nairobi got the best. I really have high hopes on Kidero and I hope he delivers. But your right about the six piece voting nonsense. Question is, did the other counties have better alternatives? Like lets say Nairobi had Mbaru

True. Though they will really fight the National government which would not find it easy allowing for any meaningful devolution.

Kabogo is okay but for Joho,I doubt if the dude went beyond form 3 and if he went,I would be interested to know which school and the year.I would also like to know the university he went to,course done, when and his career history.I am asking this to know before I comment on coast and education.

governorship is a very strong and also a very weak position at the same time. Unlike a senetor or an mp all eyes are on the holder of this seat. A slight show of incompetence may result in servere backlash from the publick.
According to the laws of kenya, is it true that a governor can be suspended or fired by the president?

101% correct. Was wondering why were guys going for senatorship while governor are very powerful; can dish jobs to cronies and control a purse worth billions, as they say money is power. Even in the bicameral parliament, i dare say with certainity or without fear of contradicting myself, that an mp is more powerful than a senator, judging from constitutional roles. The senators share with county reps oversight role over devolved govt whose purse is about 20 % of the govt revenue collected. MPs have oversight and power over all money bills and approval of presidential appointments.
