Comparing the 2012 US presidential elections to Kenya's election:

Obama's 'landslide victory' against Romney was 51.1% vs 47.2%.

Uhuru's lead against Raila of 50.7% vs 43.4% should thus be termed a 'Giant Tsunami' and not 'a close contest' as it is being referred to by everyone.

CAST 9,495,851

VALID 9,406,163
From 216/291

Using VALID votes(minus rejected)
UHURU 50.7% RAILA 43.4%

Using ALL CAST
Uhuru 50.2% RAILA 43.5%

how are you getting that?
4,769,769/(9,495,851+90,658)*100= 49.75% for UK

4,132,062/(9,495,851+90,658)*100 = 43.1% for RAO

I think your calculator has been hacked.

Why add rejected votes to votes cast? Or is it a case of "anything to keep the percentages below 50"?

this thing is going to a runoff 100%.Don't let the gap between them fool you.RAO just needs to keep the gap at 637,000 or less from here henceforth and it's round 2.

On the same please crunch the remaining areas to see how the numbers will be kept within the gap and the checks.

So, will the remaining votes reduce or increase this gap??

Dont be funny at this time and day.
The 9,495,851 already include the 90,658, i.e CAST is VALID + REJECTED

The 9,495,851 is the total votes cast think it includes the rejected votes!

"9:02 Kenyatta 4,769,769 against Odinga 4,132,062 with 216 out of 291 constituencies reporting. Votes cast 9,495,851. Rejected votes 90,658."

IEBC has done a fantastic job balancing the expectations of all parties by well-crafted reporting. Once the winner is announced in a few hours’ time with margin of 52% vs 42% after factoring rejected votes, let all remain calm please and we move on to nation building.

if I were to be a politician, i would want McR to be on my side. Seriously.

Other 'senior cord spin doctors' on the interwebs already conceded and engaged the 'excuses-mode'...but my guy McR still believes in a comeback and have steadfastly ensured the Wazua Cord family maintains hope.

Good work bro.

These guests should simply join wazua and tell us what they are doing peeping on us!

If they are from Big-Bro, then by now they know that we are a sober, mature and self-regulated lot. We never allow anyone to get out of order. Therefore they should simply get off or jump in!

The battle to the finish line in the presidential race has narrowed to 78 constituencies after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declared results for 222 constituencies early Friday.

Only three returning officers from the 78 remaining constituencies are yet to arrive at the Bomas of Kenya even as the IEBC is expected to declare the final results of the later Friday....
