hi all. i'm interested in buying a car, mainly for commuting short distances eg. home to work and the occasional trip upcountry. i thought of buying a peugeot 306 since it's fairly inexpensive (300-500k) but i'd like to know some more details from someone who's had experience using that type of vehicle. details such as cost of maintainance, spare parts etc. in short,is it a costly type of car to run?
contributions very much appreciated

It does about 9km per litre if carburettor. If less than 7 years maintenance cost is low but beyond this you will have to start replacing worn out parts, Cost mostly in the region of 6-10k but some delicate parts like starter, distributor are expensive. Its got good clearance for shangas roads.

info is money
