Jubilee presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday asked Narok County residents to come out in large numbers to vote and ensure the coalition wins in the Monday election.

Mr Kenyatta told the Maa communities that a big voter turnout would help avoid a run-off, saving Kenyans Sh6 billion.

He was addressing a public rally at the historic Suswa Grounds.

“We in the Jubilee Alliance have already made an arrangement on how we can use this money to empower the youth in our country instead of wasting it in a run-off, which can be avoided if you come out to vote in large numbers,” Mr Kenyatta said.

The deputy Prime Minister who was endorsed by the Maasai at Suswa alongside his running mate William Ruto said the journey was about to come to an end despite the many stumbling blocks on their way.

Mr Kenyatta urged all the Jubilee supporters to wake up early on the election day and make sure they were through with voting by 1pm.

Mr Ruto on his part promised residents of Narok that once the coalition clinches power, their government would make sure the poor roads in the area were tarmacked to improve their farm produce accessibility to markets, and ease transport woes for tourists visiting the Mara game reserve.

The former Eldoret North MP exuded confidence that Jubilee was poised for a win and dispelled the notion that there would be a run-off.

He predicted that Jubilee will garner over 58 per cent of the votes.

While appealing to the locals to go for the 6-piece suit voting in the election, Mr Ruto said the Jubilee government would lower prices of farm inputs.

“Our priority will be to improve security by equipping the police ,” said Mr Ruto.
