i love sk. u get to learn so much. i have been planning to keep dairy goats and this post for rabbits has helped to give me this new idea. i will definately think about it.

Chaka,We can work on that once we know the interested persons ...rabbit rearing does not require a large piece of land.....less than an acre can suffice for a start.

If demand exceeds supply it means there is no supply in Nairobi i.e that is where the joint venture comes in handy

perhaps one can start enquiries at popular meat markets like City........coz it meseems that the real challenge is actually identifying a ready market for the products not in raising the rabbits.

Was just wondering coz i personally do not know of a place where rabbit meat is sold in Nairobi(maybe coz ive never really been interested to know). But it would be good to do a market analyis before bringing in tonnes of the meat....to an uncertain market. I think City market would be a good starting point and some butchers located in shoping malls..maybe in Westlands,Adams..etc?

I dont think the market is an issue.If anyone says s/he has rabbit meat just in this forum just now.... you will be amazed at the orders you get..Also we can start by supplying the now 24hrs Nairobi city market .
