South Korea has a new president, Park Guen-Hye. She is a woman. She has never been married. Her father was the military dictator Park Chung-hee a no nonsense strongman who ruled South Korea with an iron fist from 1961 to 1979 transforming it from a third world country into an industrial powerhouse. Both her parents were assassinated.
Her dad was such a kichwa ngumu guy, he was addressing the country during the Jamhuri day of South Korea in 1974 when a guy from North Korea started shooting at him, the guy missed and instead killed his wife the first lady. You would think that with all that happening the ceremony would be abandoned, hapana! the guy after his wife has been shot and has been taken away, continues with his speech as if nothing happened.
After her mum was killed, Park Guen-hye became the first lady to her father until he was shot and killed by the head of the Korean equivalent of the NSIS.
The North Koreans had tried to kill her father a few times before they finally killed her mother. The leader of North Korea at the time was the Guka of the current leader. Now she has to deal with a nuclear armed North Korea right at her doorstep. She is 61. The North Korean leader is 28.
