A story of progress. Full of hope and and what is possible in Kenya.

I want to read more of these kinds of stories. An amazing job by Charles Onyango Obbo. Let us hear more of them from all parts of Kenya.

Although I have heard bits and pieces of the success story of Gatanga Constituency I have not read a well written account of it. If anyone has a link please share.

Also any other positive story of success. Lets use this thread to share uplifting Kenyan success stories. I really loved this one and I got such a good feeling reading it I want more.

C&P
So the Lelan Dairy chiefs headed to Kipkelion to see donkeys, and buy some..
Within months, donkeys were arriving in Lelan. Then, in one of their most innovative solutions, the Lelan chiefs decided that farmers should specialise in raising cattle and producing milk, and that its transport by donkey be given to women and young men – the “losers” in the peace. With that single decision, the problem of poor widows and unemployed youth was sorted out

Awesome! Nothing like tunaomba serikali stuff. Change starts with me. My pessimism that pastoralist communities cannot change is now shattered.

Poverty is indeed in the mind!

The name for God in Kikuyu is Ngai, derived from Kugaya which is to share fairly. When God placed people in different places on Earth, He made sure they each had a fair share of resources. All, the people need to do is use their heads a little and they can reap the fruits....

This story shows clearly how that can be done.

Congratulations to the people of Lelan
