The Kivuti guy when you talk about GIS projects in Kenya you better only think of the guy who has made his megabucks here. Hate him or love him he knows how to pull strings in this sector. By the way i understand he started digital mapping when others believed its only theodolite that can make money for you, went on and produced the 1st digital cadastral plan that was rejected at ministry of lands coz they believed a cadastral plan has to be drawn by hand. One prof at Nairobi uni told him on the eye that as a surveyor you have to come down thats early 90's and he told him thats outdated survey. From imbeccable sources he owns a fixed wing cessna fitted with the state of art LIDAR mapping camera (Camera expensive than the cessna) and you ask how he makes his bucks! those are the guys who owns kenya

May be true but in business we call this being ahead of others. else how would anyone know there is a secret military surveying contract. Call a spade a spade and let him him enjoy what he sowed. He may have compromised guys on the process but he used his head and never did he say HAKI YETU to get what he wanted. I remember after his infamouus house was brought down on the bypass by SOMEONE he just went AWOL and never tried to make a show out of it
