Very childish indeed, and to link the letter, with his issue with a KAA security guard with Kimemia, then mentioning a sincere apology from intelligence as all connected is very childish!!!

So there you go. He did report to the police and taken extra precautions.

Any time that a member of the judiciary or the police is threatened it is a bad day for you and your family. It doesn't matter if you are in one political divide or another.

On this very forum, someone has actually posted some of the things quoted in that letter. I'll let you do your own research. So I'm not dismissing its legitimacy unless proven otherwise.

It's the prudent thing to be safe with your family. There are a lot of hot heads around during crazy season. I for one, differ to safety rather than bravado.

If the CJ and Judges are taking extra precautions with their lives. So will I.

For those who want to win political mileage with this, its obvious that 2007/8 was not lesson enough.

We should be uniting against anyone anywhere who would want to threaten or seem to threaten the institutions that burning babies in a church help create. Not trying to score cheap political points.

It is a shame to see grown men and women who can type behave like dogs chasing a carcass.

I bid you farewell until sanity prevails.

Take care of your families. Remember you don't get two chances at protecting them or living in peace. Vote wisely and with your safety paramount. Not the lives of some politicians who have proven themselves to be vultures time and again.

Jose: If I make it through this thug life, I'll see you one day. The Lord is the only way to stop the hurt.

Ita an obvious fact that all state officers must seek clearance from OP for any international travel, CJ included. The immigration officer deserves a medal for teaching CJ a few lessons from Civil servant code of conduct 101.

Maybe he is suffering the Nancy Baraza "You should know people" syndrome, why does he want to blow up small things out of proportion particularly if it is procedure, as if other peoples jobs and instructions dont matter when it comes to his over-important self.

Quote the constitution or act that says so.....and it's obvious it wasn't the 1st time he was travelling out of the country!!!!

That is the point. There is no doubt it is political. The question is who's the source?

There are at least 4 interesting giveaways but I will mention two:

-'...our crown prince' - Tantamount to RAO's supporters referring to him as Kimundu.

-'our father who organized us from the big house...' Hang on, let me Laughing out loudly Why would Uhuru supporters say that considering this meeting is what the ICC case is hinged upon?

Anyhow, my concern is there are leaders in this country who would be willing to plunge the country into complete chaos if that is what it will take for them to be president for even 5 minutes.

NAIROBI, KENYA: Chief Justice Willy Mutunga on Wednesday said he has received death threats over an integrity lawsuit against Jubilee presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta and his running mate William Ruto.

Dr Mutunga said he received a poison-pen letter from a group claiming to be the outlawed Mungiki sect warning him against issuing a ruling against the two leaders. He said the letter, dated February 13, was signed from the ‘Mungiki Veteran Group/ Kenya Sovereignty Defence Squad'.

It is not established whether the letter came from Mungiki, supporters of the two Jubilee leaders or political rivals using it as a black propaganda attack. Black propaganda is false information that purports to be from a source on one side of a conflict, but is actually from the opposing side. It is typically used to vilify, embarrass or misrepresent a rival.

The letter, Mutunga said, extols the violent exploits of the Mungiki movement and threaten him with dire consequences should he deliver a ruling detrimental to Uhuru and Ruto.

The CJ said the judiciary will not flinch in interpreting the Constitution as required. He added he has invested heavily in creating a new Judiciary in the last one and a half years for him to be cowed by threats.

“Let no individual, group, candidate or supporter imagine that cowardly and dark acts such as this will cower us,” he said.

He said he has sent the letter to Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo, CID Director Ndegwa Muhoro and the Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko for investigations. He at the same time asked Kimaiyo to beef up his security and that of judges in view of the threat.

While the Mungiki movement has it roots in Uhuru's ethnic community, he has repeatedly sought to distance himself from them. In recent months, Mungiki leaders have pledged support for Uhuru's rivals in the CORD alliance.

All my friends are heathens, take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know. Please don't make any sudden moves.

When a chief justice of a country says that he's fearing for his life, we take him seriously. Whether the guy is gay, in cord, sober, high, in tna, without a party or wears ladies undies. He's the chief justice. We listen.

He should go to the police. Fearing for one's life is no laughing matter and should be investigated. Not just being infront of cameras.

I'm just wondering could these kamiti goons be behind all this and want to cause chaos in this country? I mean, think about it.....personally I have received death threats severally, reported some to the police and nothing is solved, but hey I'm still alive. I strongly suspect that stupid letter is from kamiti those convicts are capable of anything...
