NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 20 – Chief Justice Willy Mutunga has revealed that he recently received threats over the integrity case that involved Jubilee presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.
The CJ disclosed that the letter warned him of dire consequences from the dreaded Mungiki sect.
Mutunga accused the State of harassment and recalled an instance when an immigration official tried to bar him from travelling out of the country to Dar-es-Salaam, since he did not purportedly have clearance from the Head of the Civil Service Francis Kimemia.
The CJ declared he will not be cowed and explained that he does not need clearance from Kimemia to leave the country.
He has also expressed concern that judges are being threatened politically ahead of the elections.

I DON'T LIKE THIS. THIS IS THE KIND OF THING THAT BRINGS MAPAMBANO. IF THE CJ IS CRYING INTIMIDATION, THEN NO ONE WILL BE READY TO GO TO COURT TO SEEK JUSTICE. IF THE CJ DOES NOT HAVE CONFIDENCE WITH THE POLICE AND THE DPP......S**t WILL HAPPEN. 90K POLICE WILL NOT BE ENOUGH..!!!!

I can rule out neither TNA radicals nor ODM suicidals from being the originators of the letter. I am sorry for the CJ but on a related note and as a matter of principle, should he disqualify himself from that case if the purported letter he sent to Miguna (regarding RAO's presidency) is anything to go by?

Mungiki is lead by Maina Njenga.
Maina Jenga is in COARD...
So the threats and intimidation are coming from COARD..

i can only say the thread title is misleading. @ mcreggae why can't it be Cjs statement.

This is the way the propaganda group that sent those letters want it to look. They want it to appear a "Kikuyu vs Kenyans" thing, standard Rao strategy, the said letter was even posted here first by cord sycophants. It wont work.Shame on you
