Have you ever noticed advertising all over of leather items like shoes,handbags belts.

In fact some items like sofas cost over 400,000 shillings? d'oh!

The sofas are beautiful; truth must be told some of them are made of synthetic leather that may not last even for two years.

My neighbor bought the sofas in one of the supermarkets about a year ago but she is lamenting her decision.

Material is chipping off,leaving white ugly patches on he once beautiful sofas

Please be careful what you post. I know of one lawyer here on wazua who'd only be too happy to sue you for gross misrepresentation.

Since "your neighbour" could not know it was real or synthetic leather when she bought it, she's proven that she's not an expert at it. So your allegations need some more proof.

I'm trying to help you out in your blogging endeavours. When you post such an article, please have some evidence or sources otherwise you will be sued.

On another note. We have so many dying cows and goats everywhere, why the need for fake leather?

No names have been mentioned i.e brand name or name of the supermarket so how can the suing be done?

There are very many fake things in Kenya. We're really a country of fakes and counterfeits. Downtown Nairobi, do you think those 'dark and lovely' chemicals, motions, blue magic etc are genuine?Those phones stocked up in most 'exhibitions'? The TVs and video players there? Perfumes? Do you know how many consignments of fake goods arrive by the day at the ports? God help us.

@Haqromogeni,

There is no fake leather.....What you get in the market is either leather or leatherette.......There is a huge difference between the two and any serious consumer should know and be able to differentiate between the two.
