I went into partnership with someone and we started having problems when the business started to pick up. After some chaotic encounters, the brother of the partner offered to help and he infact helped and I collected some goods and we agreed that the balance would be collected in January when they would arrive from overseas. Since, it was late, we agreed that I would approach a lawyer the following morning to document what we had agreed the following morning.

When I took it back, it was never signed and now the brother says he cannot help because he depends on my former business partner and things have turned very bad for him since the day he helped me.

I am not ready to waste my time in court. Any suggestions of some guys who can help with private investigation and who are not expensive to trace some information I am looking for so that I can act?

However, you say you started having problems when business picked up, what problems were these and whose fault was it?If you were at fault, then you should think of apologizing to your partner and asking to mend things. Chances are he may just ask that he gives you your share and you part ways amicably. If it was his fault, then it means you swallowed a bait, he was counting on you leaving because of that disagreement. It also seems he ensured you don't have much evidence to take him to court or he knows you won't take him to court one way or another. So, surprise him. Try to find out some leverage that he did not expect and have your lawyer call him about the charges. See how this plays out.

For better advice, try answering the following questions so wazuans can understand the background:

1. Was the partnership registered?
2. How was handling the transactions?
3. How did you transfer your capital for the business? Did u directly send it to the supplier or did u send it to your partner's bank or was it just cash transfer off the books to your partner?
4. Do you have any email exchanges/sms or phone conversation suggesting you were in partnership?
5. What is your relationship with this person apart from the business?

Let me try even though your information is scanty.you can recover part of the money if you play your cards well and are lucky.Get the little documentation available,look for an advocate who knows which doors to knock in the judiciary preferably some who were purged by Ringeera or the recent ones who lost in the vetting,file a civil suit against the guy.The guy will also get an advocate to defend him.Give his advocate 100k downpayment to lose the case on technicalties and 150k balance after conceding defeat.Your advocate will know how to take care of the magistrate but it is not that simple.
