^^ I've always thought that Pokot (No. 13) belong to the Kalenjin grouping. Personally i belong to no. 114 - Kenyan.

Reminds me of the Kiswahili saying: "Mkosa mila ni mtumwa"

Good work @ Mukiha, now can those who quote 42 tribes tell us how they come up with the number.

The list of Kenyan Somali is totally wrong..
The Rendille Gabra etc etc are not Somali.. The even speak totally different language..
It seems to have mixed some Somali clans with other tribes

@Mukiha,

Boranas have never been Somalis. That listing is mischievous.

This is just one of many other 'facts' Kenyans are fond of throwing around. Something along the lines of
- Kibera is home to 1 million residents.
- 75% of Nairobi residents live in the slums
- Nairobi accounts for 65% of Kenya's GDP
- The Kenyan Diaspora is home to 3 million potential voters
etc etc etc.

We are good at repeating just about anything we hear from anybody.

We love figures.

That is why PK and Kidero impress us. Even Atuwooli telling us that fuel is pricier in Kenya when compared to Rwanda.

Good people; don't shoot the messenger!

This is NOT my list; it comes from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics [KNBS] and I have provided the rink.

Secondly, the fact that Rendille, Garba and Borana are listed BELOW (not "under") Kenyan Somali does NOT mean that they are treated as Kenya Somali sub-tribe.

Thirdly, this was the list used during the 2009 census. Ask yourself why there wasn't an outcry over it.

By the way; I think your tribe is what you say it is. So, some people will say they are Luhya, while others will say Maragoli and yet others Kenyan - yet all will speak the same mother tongue. It's just the way you see yourself.

As for me; I am Mugikuyu... and my son wants to be a Maasai when he grows up!

I also don't know how he'll manage that; but I'm eagerly waiting to see!
