"Which scientific/literary events?"

Unless your name is an acronym or a mnemonic, which I doubt, it comes from two giants.

One of science and one of science fiction. I would bet it is the former.

That is all I am saying.

To perceive, two beings have to communicate, I assume (could be wrong).

So trees are beings then.

But this raises another question.

There are many entities we do not really understand? Does that mean they are not 'beings?'

I was born on the slopes of a mountain and for many years I could swear the mountain called to me - still does. I know people who swear the sea, their country etc calls to them.

Are all these 'beings?'

To perceive you only need a being and the object to be observed.Thats what I think.

No,it doesn't mean they are not 'beings'. 'Beings' could be anything and everywhere,we just don't have the tools or methods of seeing them let alone understanding them. That's why I can't dispute what you've said could be possible. The only way would be to know the truth.

So the Universe is a being, then? What exactly is it 'being?'

After all 'being' is a verb not a noun.

What is a 'being' 'being'?

Elsewhere you said, 'the only thing we can't doubt is our 'self' (human beings)'.

Does that mean we are locked in a state of perpetual being?

So what exactly are we being?

And why the heck is it so hard?

Sorry to ask so many questions.

I am really that ignorant

Life is hard. But sometimes its how you take it. I have come to appreciate the simple things in life and I find it beautiful.

i doubt anyone can say what the universe exactly is. But i don't think its a being.

By being I mean things with consciousness, like human beings have. I believe we are in a perpetual state of being but that leaves so many interesting possibilities

Dont you also think this discussion is very very deep?

The loonies are making steady progress. Who will fish them out from the ever deepening depth they are sinking into? I cannot take myself to their depths. I cannot go into that bin.

My tears are for them.
