The ICC needs to pay attention to some of these politicians utterances and consider revising their list of suspects. They will realize that the very same players who prepared the ground for chaos in 2007 are doing the same again. Thank God for the IG who's speaking out against these plans

I totally agree with you on this one. The CORD guys know very well that land is a very emotive issue and to a large extent resulted in the chaos of 2008..so for them to come out and claim their rhetoric is just political talk is quite dangerous..it's just as well this has been nipped in the bud by the IG and Kibunja..you just can't cross a certain line..

Why are they always trying to whip up negative emotions..or is that the only way they know how to win?

Did they say it was just political talk? I would be so surprised.

Yes, it was on the 9 o'clock news on Citizen TV..RAO even denied that he wanted to take people's land away..he actually beat a hasty retreat..

Like I said previously, this whole land debate is bad strategy and will come back to bite him if he continues with it.
.

@storyteller, Hapo umenena ndugu. I even suspect this has led to his isolation by the West (read UK and US) as they have now openly warmed up to the reality of a UR victory and a declaration that they will work with anybody elected. Sanctions out. The brits are among the largest individual land owners and his threat on land has definitely alienated their sympathy.

VOTE 50 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE.

we know who is 50 years and who is not

The Jubilee (Hebrew yovel יובל) year is the year at the end of seven cycles of shmita (Sabbatical years), and according to Biblical regulations had a special impact on the ownership and management of land in the Land of Israel; there is some debate whether it was the 49th year (the last year of seven sabbatical cycles, referred to as the Sabbath's Sabbath), or whether it was the following (50th) year. Jubilee deals largely with land, property, and property rights. As with most cultures, the property rights regarding land, slaves and indentured servants was less absolute than for other property rights such as for tools and personal artifacts.[citation needed]The biblical rules concerning Sabbatical years (shmita) are still observed by many religious Jews in the State of Israel, but the regulations for the Jubilee year have not been observed for many centuries.

They year of Jubilee indeed!!!

The new Inspector General of Police, David Kimaiyo, hired via a competitive process, has warned the land charlatans of this election to stop using the emotive land issue for selfish political purposes whilst stoking ethnic tensions less than one month to the election - http://www.capitalfm.co....-land-as-campaign-tool/

Will they heed this?

Vote wisely.

The IG should focus on security and leave politics to politicians.

@Obi1, NOShame on you Shame on you , Kimaiyo is spot on. He cannot let them mess around and blame him when the time comes to clean the mess. Incitement is criminal and is power must be achieved by whatever means possible then let the police stand down and let the politicians clean up their own mess.

1. OAR has alleged of a plot by their competitors to rig the election early using the CCK.

If he has any evidence of the above, why not present it to the authorities?

2. What is the intention of OAR in repeatedly bringing up the land issue telling Mr Kenyatta to return 'stolen' land, the 'size of Nyanza' - other than maybe stock tensions between two communities perceived to be supporting the Jubilee candidate? (communities that have always had a history of pre/post election violence ever since the advent of muliti-partyism)

@ecstacy, I respect some of your sentiments, though partisan; partisan because:

1. Kalonzo, Ruto, Social media, Wazuans questioned the motive of the CCK move, with the Courts eventually barring further switch offs. Your post only mentions Raila.

I personally support the CCK move; though the timing is as unfortunate as the use of the word "rigging".

2. Elections are run on issues. It is thus fair ground to question:
- Raila's leadership based on role in attempted coup, merger with KANU, disputed elections, Kibera slum, Miguna Miguna book
- Uhuru's bequeathed wealth (including land) from first president's acquisitiveness, Hague proceedings
- Peter Kenneth's reform credentials or chosen running mate
- Martha Karua's stubborness and individuality

Finally, apart from good natured rivalry and exchange of ideas, I'd be very surprised if an average (let alone a vehement) supporter of either Uhuru or Raila is swayed by points put across on a discussion forum - my thoughts.
