@Much Know, Please take a minute and think.
Because diplomats leave all avenues open lest their committal pronouncements comes back to bite them. They are DIPLOMATS and they don't use plain language,it's all DIPLOMATIC SPEAK.

To the matter exciting most of the Jubilee leaning wazuans, the world WILL respect the will of the KENYAN people. It will.

What the world WON'T respect is the will of the duo choosing not to attend hearings citing immunity granted by our constitution. That is NOT the will of Kenyans. That's when the chicken will come home and sanctions will follow, gradually.

So those who are jumping up n down,it is the deeds of UK n WSR that will send Kenya the Zimbabwe way through non-cooperation as sitting deputy and president.
Take that to any bank of your choice.

PK mpaka kwa debe.

I am for PK too. But the reality is slowly sinking in. I am unable to convince my own Dad why he should vote for him. The scientific opinion polls are giving him 3% at most so far. Worst or best case scenario, in the event of a run-off he will endorse his Gatundu Neighbour.

Eventually we will be left with 2 candidates. UK and RAO. Who between the 2 is lessor evil?.

The stance by UK & US government are meant to calm rising tensions in the country and may also be a reverse psychology ploy to one side.

Someone please educate me:

Supposing in a free and fair and democratic elections the citizens of Kenya elect UhuRuto who in turn promise to fully cooperate with the ICC process and then apply to the same court for flexible schedules to attend court due to their new roles.

Will we still be subject to sanctions?
If yes,
Who exactly will be issuing those sanctions?
For what reasons will they be issuing the sanctions?

In such a situation, there would be no sanctions.

But then you have to quit Utopia pronto, for that is not practical!

Once you appear before a Court you are subject to the schedule of the Court and not your Business/Political/family, etc conveniences.

The Court can even find that you dont deserve bail and have you put under confinement.

CORD is killing itself with the land issue. UK will not allow a Mugabe coup on their white farmers so they rather support the suspects. after all PEV did not affect any of their own.

CORD is killing itself yet you are using the IG and Kibunja to muzzle the discussion on land!!!

Thanks B.Timer.

FYI, mine was not utopia but conjecture. For the sake of the points you raise... Supposing the court doesn't even give them a favourable schedule, but they win fairly and cooperate fully.

Will we still see sanctions?

I reckon the issue of how they run the government from the Hague now becomes valid.

Does the Kenyan Constitution/any other Kenyan Law even contemplate such a situation?
What does the law of impeachment provide?

IMO, such a situation will be handled politically. The party with the majority in both Houses will decide whether the two will govern us from the Hague or not.

Now it is up to the people who run business at The Hague to adjust to these developments. Remember it is the ICC presidency who dictates the tune at The Hague, after listening carefully to what the USA and Britain have to say. These are the two diplomatic capitals of today’s "free" world.

You never know what these guys want. We will wait and see. The anti-chupileee band wagon will now stop using the ICC and sanctions as a campaign tool.

@Mkeiyd, Obama is not a diplomat, the British HC is given a brief on such issues from 10downing street by the British PM. Just like many others here, i kicked of as a PK supporter and am on record on wazua as one, but because of interest, my interest and that of others, it downed on me that i have to support the candidate that will be in a position to win and meet my interest which was UK (a compromise of sorts), it became very clear to me that PK did not stand a chance. Apparently he is breaking down his good standing for 2017 elections by remaining in the race and appearing as an unrealistic person, he is eroding his above par political standing and appearing lost and unrealistic, sorry.
