Over time,live.mystocks.co.ke has been a useful tool when doing pre-buy/sale analysis.

until i got this notice.. Would i pay 100bob per day (5000 per year) to access market info? when there is bloomberg (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/data?pid=symsearch&Query=KN),stockskenya,and others?

Bye mystockslive. I wont miss you! What do other users think?

Now,now,my friend. You are married to www.stockskenya.com. You have been having a clandestine affair with live.mystocks.co.ke. Mystocks wants you to make 'her' your official wife by paying dowry.

In view of the foregoing,if the relationship is worth it,has fire, sex is A1,you can make marry mystocks (pay up) or if not, ditch her and keep SK.

Just a thought,my friend. Just a thought

There is always a cost to the good stuff. I have been using live.mystocks for free but I think for 500/- a month,I hope it can make me 10x more!

only two more days and its over.It was good while it lasted. But they should be more serious in the accuracy of their data, their P/Es are not always correct.

I know only one broker who uses their system (cfc) while all the others use nelly data.Infact nelly data is a goldmine selling thousands of subscriptions yet live.mystocks is more versatile and people still dont use it.

I wish them success.

Rich.co.ke here we come please dont sell us out.

It is with shock that I read this thread about paying for information, know we all know why our developers will end up old and broke just like other local artists (painters, authors, actors,& musicians).

myStocks was a brilliant development live.mystocks.co.ke is literally revolutionary right from the onset they promoted local 'note the .ke' which is more than I can say for many of the other sites.

My take on this is lets support those brilliant tireless individuals out there who have given us great things for free, now its time to pay them back even if for taking the effort to take time and resources to develop instead of running around uprooting railway tracks, haki yetu!.

Mkimwa, you are what we call a hater, what have you developed and provided to us for free or even for a fee?

Nelly Data was the system used by the 3 brokerage firms that went under maybe that would explain why they are able to give you data for free. If it did not help the Nyagas what makes you sing there praises from the top of the mountain?

What are we complaining about paying for information unless you just use it for 'image purposes'. Any serious technical trader will appreciate the information provided by the new mystocks site live.mystocks.co.ke. If you really trade 500/- is a drop in the ocean of your trading costs only the wanna be trader would see this as a bank breaking expense as it generates no revenue for them.

The good thing that has come out from all this vile vitriol is that the loss of access to live.mystocks.co.ke is more painful to Mkimwa than the loss of a loved one. See you when you start trading.

There comes a time when silence needs enforcing.

Hmmmn, judging by the responses maybe @aemathenge is right on the money - is this the 'case of a faithful wife vs a demanding mistress'?

I believe in choice and all business mentioned [with exception of Bloomberg] are Kenyan anway. If you've been using mystocks then you need to pay for it. If you have access to free data like RICH,Bloomberg,SK,Business Daily,CapitalFM then so be it - competition only serves the market better.

I for one am always on the move and prefer using wap.safaricom.com - stocks from my mobile which is also live and very free.

I bet Richlive will take this route too...

During registration, they inform you that access is free for a year only....

Its been longer than a year, but I keep expecting that knock on the door..

@stocksguru..

Dont get me wrong... I pay for premium service,i even pay for relevant information. I will subscribe to it once i look around and see that there is no other alternative. Will mystocks have any additional particular value now that there is a subscription fee,or will it continue to offer what was available earlier on,but now at a fee? And to be fair,i use a number of tools/information,not just mystocks.

If all of the sites,e.g. rich,SK,BD,bloomberg providing the info take that route, then we will definitely pay for it.

From a users perspective,as long as there are providers out there with the same information at no cost to the user (its not free - someone else pays for it),i will seek them. And its on the internet.. as long as the info is accurate, reliable and timely..it doesnt have to be Kenyan.

@aemathenge - good food for thought.

@sheep.. here are rates i got from their website.

Subscription Monthly Quarterly Biannually Annually Daily Access
Standard 500 1,463 2,850 5,550 100
Professional 1,000 2,925 5,700 11,100
Corporate 2,000 5,850 11,400 22,200

I dont know the diff between the packages, will ask though.
