yes it happened again in less than 2 months. G4s truck headed to sudan from westlands was reported missing only to be found in ngara area, cash n personnel missing. The chase car was found miles away, also occupants missing. How daring but smart way of get rich quick. Hope they wont go buying luxury cars like their predessessors.

Well,am not supporting theft but when you pay an AP 10k per month and the guy escorts millions per month he is bound to be tempted.

you pay the AP 10K & the bank's CEO 4M...?

this gap must breed the heist...

>> an ingenious way of beating recession. These PHD thugs didn't kill anybody, just did what they had to do,and petty robbers and kidnappers should emulate that. they shouldn't bother us for peanuts, for now they know where to get the real deal....before they rot behind bars

G4S has insurance. So it's there premium going up. Banks dont care as long as it's not in the bank.
Nway 2 cases is not a massive amount of cash cause its only around 60 mill seeing this guys transport billions in a month. They service most ATMs,service most banks, etc.
Even if you paid the APs 150k there would still be cases of crime. Wizi ni wizi whatever the reason!!

It appears like the newest criminal syndicate in Nairobi. Make no mistake,It is secretive but highly organized and dangerous because we still prefer cash as the mode of payment in our day to day activities. What is even scaring is that it did happen two months ago and it was swept under the carpet and nothing was recovered. I just do not care about the actors (G4S drivers and the AP manned chase cars),but it scares me to imagine the REAL BENEFICIARIES!!!!!!!

Its time the modus operandi of this gang is exposed and destroyed before it mutates to something i do not want to imagine. It may also leave a trail of collapsed insurance companies.

I'm not surprised about murenj's post. If you go through his past posts most of them spew ethnic hatred

Fair enough,if they got a few millions each then well and good. let them emulate a plan to launder the money in the financial system pole pole

@ jaheim,

if the heist involved 6 fellows, then each of them got 4m....carrying and laundering 4m is no laughing matter!!

@kaiganjo,
Well it may not be a laughing matter but huge sums of money are being laundered in kenya to the west. Wa y too much than the 4M which is is barely 40k pounds. Whether the guy will dig a hole and chomoa kidogokidogo,or put the cash under mattress looooooooool, but the fact is depending on how smart the guys are they will find away of getting the cash in the financial system

It's reported that a criminal lawyer has been mentioned by the surrendered AP as one of the masterminds of the heist. For money to move to another country, some legal papers must be signed....could such signatory have leaked vital info to the van crew? There must be a syndicate and those who surrender do so upon feeling duped.

for such a scam to have materialised there must have been a lot of pple involved even insiders. may be G4S need to review their controls before they make a bigger loss in less than 6 months.By the way the more one has a money the more greedy one becomes so the AP's salary though important may not be a concern.

150 million on transit to netherlands disappear into thin air. consignee raised a redflag after suspecting something fishy with the cargo, after the safety valves were tampered with.

i am sure those Ugandans who turned up to take a photo with the world cup were duped. the authentic world cup was switched in kenya courtesy of G4S and what they have is a gold plated brass trophy made in Kenya!!!
