it's quite encouranging to note that kenya has produced more experts,on any worldly field, than any other african state. the late okoth ogendo was a brilliant scholar, who was on contract on many african states to redraft land laws. he died doing exaclty that on a foreign soil - ethiopia. kivuitu himself, until last year sat in 9 international law and electoral bodies.
now to my main point. the bomas draft was the best,by any standard in terms of kenyan constitution. its a document and a product by kenyan, for the kenyan. it would have served us well. Botswana borrowed the document and adopted clause by clause, and a whopping Kshs 100m exchanged hands. this was done in the last two years (2007-8) by the same institution that was supposed to keep custodian of the document, untill its revisted or trashed. talk of a true mugikuyu.
