I'm beginning to actually think Waititu and Sonko might be good for Nairobi as they understand the plight of the people. No matter what, poor people have to come first, they've been swept under the rugs for too long and it is a time bomb waiting to explode.

If the role of Governor is this then YT2 it is, if it is developing the City to the next level, Kidero all the time!!!

Sadly, in politics only numbers matter and only one person is connecting with the people who hav the numbers that matter. And in reality, what Kidero was saying in the interview was nothing new or creative, any idiot who can read can say those things and not execute it 'the kenyan way'.

BBI will solve it

After a weekend of ODM youth burning tyres and their party nominations, they didn't need Kidero's appearance on TV.

It was singularly the worst campaign ad the world has seen.

On one side is a fellow who thinks he's too sharp. After all he was head of a company with branches all over Africa and his opponent has not read the constitution. His solution to fix sewage problems in Nairobi is to write another policy paper and bring white people with money to Nairobi. Oh yes by the way, he was born in Majengo and his parents don't speak english.

On the other side is a fellow who has been seen throwing stones on TV. His explanation of 3000 kids who were going to be schooless had a few guys thinking about the Nairobi that is real. The Nairobi where Kideros class steal a few markets and get a few lawyers to hide their crime. The Nairobi where a class of citizens in Nairobi are living in squallor while another 2 meters away is living in Hollywood.

The Waititu fellow was abused a number of times but he was cool about it and even laughing. But he never lost his story line. "I will do anything and everything to help my constituency".

There is no need for Kidero to waste any more campaign funds, he will lose embarrassingly.

@alma,
I tell you for a truth, if Waititu would see this piece and get to know who you really are behind the curtain, you will be promised a running mate position.
Cant agree more on this.

BTW what tribe is Kidero, i have not yet checked? If it is about ethnicity, it will be a real landslide because i don't see folk siding with Waititu for ethnicity even amongst his own tribe except the very hardcore "very staunch" tribesmen youth and they will be outnumbered by Kao's, Jengs, Lunjes (cord), and others like myself who don't give a damn about his tribe in Nairobi by kilometers. The ethnic balance is unnecessary in my opinion for Kidero to win.

yaani he is still running? That race ended yesterday evening. Just when we were thanking the kisumu voters for getting rid of the arrogant nyongo, Kidero rubs it on our faces. As you rightly pointed out, the middo crass that would have handed Kidero the governorship vanished yesterday just like that.

Although for Presidency, I see Raila will have probably lost many votes this weekend, as he tried to keep his useless family employed.

I think Nairobi needs a competent and experienced manager capable of implementing several blueprints as well as seriously negotiating with potential investors. However, governorship is an elective and not an appointive post. Kidero should have thought what the electorate want, and perhaps consider what they hate most…

It is quite obvious that they don’t want an arrogant, elitist or snooty leader… but all is not yet lost if only he can redeem himself!
